This article is consisting with examples and Effectiveness and Efficiency of Result, which can be presented Time Management in Biography of the Load Buddha.

Time Management on Biography of The Load Buddha

From the beginning up to end of the life, The Load Buddha had used proper Time Management System. It can be identified when deeply investigate of biography of The Load Buddha. It can be realize by analyzing activities and effectiveness and efficiently using the time and minimize the time wastage.

Activity: – “Birth”

Before birth on earth Bodhisatta (previous life of the Load Buddha) searched five great observations as Time, Country, Area, Clan and Mother (Pancamaha Vilokhana). Time was a one of the factors of them.

Considering with other four factors he plan the best time to birth. Using that he forecasted that most fruitful result can be gained in that time. It can be seen that, Bodhisatta had selected suitable time period to increase effectiveness.

Activity: – “Plough Festival”

It was received little Prince free time period and he had attended to Anapanasati Meditation while away the nurses.

In the little time period of free him he attended to productive work to his aim. As that was the load Buddha applied to enlighten finally. It can be identified that, Prince had used his valuable time for valuable purpose.

Activity: – “Renunciation”

Prince Siddhartha had attended renunciation just after birth of his son.

Prince Siddhartha decided to attend renunciation just after birth of his son. If didn’t allocated the time for that, his lust may be increased. It might be casus to barrier and he got that decision to successes his aim. He allocated that time for finding the truth as Appling time management.

Activity: – “Finding Teaching through Best Teachers”

According to Ariyaparyesana sutta in Majjima Nikaya, Ascetic Gotama had started to find the path to terminate the suffering. For that he selected teaching of best teachers in India.

Ascetic Gotama didn’t waste time to find the searching methods from the beginning by teaching of all the members. He selected the teaching of best teachers. After realizing their teachings are not the path for terminating the suffering, he leaves them. It can be seen that ascetic Buddha didn’t waste time.

Activity: – “Selecting Middle Path”

According to Ariyaparyesana sutta in Majjima Nikaya, Ascetic Gotama has Selected Middle Path to Find Truth. He refused two extreme ways.

Ascetic Gotama tried to find the truth by extreme ways. But he realized that those were not fruitful for searching truth by experience of him. He had got experience about two extreme ways, by extreme luxury life and extreme suffering.

After that he used middle path to effectively using time for realizing real truth. It was identified that Ascetic Gotama used time management without wasting further time.

Activity: – “Enlightenment”

According to Ariyaparyesana sutta in Majjima Nikaya, that Ascetic Gotama had used Anapanasati Meditation and attains Samma Sambuddha.

Samsaric is spread accountable time period. In that time period Humans are suffering extremely and wasting time useless.  After getting enlightenment only, human can terminate the suffering. This is the point that Best time management had used by the Load Buddha. After enlightenment human don’t waste time for suffering.

Activity: – “Invitation of Expound the Dhamma”

The Load Buddha thought that it will be useless the expounding Dhamma. According to Invitation of Sahampati Brahma, Dhamma had been expounded (According to Ariyaparyeshana sutta in Majjama Nikaya).

First the load Buddha thought that time would be waste due to inefficiency (Layman couldn’t be understood). It was used time management technique that targeting to expound dhamma to the person can understand easily first. The Load Buddha could achieve the aim effectively with limited time period.

Activity: -“Method applied to First discourse”

According to Ariyaparyeshana sutta in Majjama Nikaya, that The Load Buddha had used appropriate technique to discourse Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta to five Ascetics.

Two of five ascetics was attended to discourse and other three attending to find meals. Then three of five ascetics were attended to discourse and other two attending to find meals.

There were two main tasks were there as Discoursing Dhamma and finding Meals were. The Load Buddha didn’t waste his valuable time and discourse efficiently. In here it can be seen that The Load Buddha didn’t waste his time and used greatest time management techniques.

Activity: –“Sending Messenger of Truth (Dhammaduta)”

The load Buddha sent first messenger of truth and it was sixty number of member of disciples. They was got message from the load Buddha that not to travel two disciples to use in same path. They have to use separate path to pass message separately.

If more than single disciple used single path time spent and lack of efficiency were there. The Method of The Load Buddha taught was more effective and efficient as within limited time more messages can be sent.  

Activity: –“Daily Routing of the Load Buddha”

Day of the Load Buddha was divided into five parts, namely as The Forenoon Session, The Afternoon Session, The First Watch, The Middle Watch and The Last Watch.

The Forenoon Session

Usually early in the morning, the Load Buddha surveys the world with divine eyes to see whom he could help. If any person needed spiritual assistance, it was provided.

The Afternoon Session 

After the noon meal He takes a seat in the monastery and the Bhikkhus assemble to listen to His exposition of the Dhamma.

The First Watch  

This period of the night extends from 6 to 10 p.m. and was exclusively reserved for instruction to Bhikkhus. During this time the Bhikkhus were free to approach the Buddha and get clear their doubts.

The Middle Watch

During this period which extends from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. space beings such as Devas (Gods) and Brahmas, who are invisible to the physical eye, approach the Buddha to question Him on the Dhamma.

The Last Watch

The hours of the morning extending from 2 to 6 a.m. period, which comprise the last watch, are divided into four parts. The first part is spent in pacing up and down (cankamana) this serves as a mild physical exercise to Him.

During the second part, that is from 3 to 4 a.m. He mindfully sleeps on His right side. During the third part, which is from 4 to 5 a.m, He attains the state of arahantship and experiences Nibbanic bliss.

For one hour from 5 to 6 a.m., it is attained the Ecstasy of Great Compassion (Maha Karunasamapatti) and radiates thoughts of loving-kindness towards all beings and softens their hearts.

It can be seen that the Load Buddha had been used Time Management effectively and efficiently to help all over the universal.
